This competition winning, collaborative project with Kirby Mehrhof Architects for a private school outside Philadelphia, for grades 1-8 is comprised of a new Middle School Classroom Wing, a new 450 Seat Auditorium and related site development.
The new 19,000 SF Classroom Wing and Renovation project includes four classrooms, two science rooms, additional faculty office space, and a 50 person meeting room in the new construction. Four of the existing classrooms were enlarged and reconfigured to have direct access with the new two-story Commons which connects the existing building with the new classroom wing and woods beyond, creating a unique identity and social center for the Middle School. The new structures are sited to take advantage of the existing topography and work in concert with the existing buildings to enhance the definition of the existing play yard, making it the new focal point of the campus. |
