This Federal style house has been continuously occupied and sequentially expanded since 1724 on this site, originally 16 acres of farmland. At present, the house sits far back from a secluded street on its .7 acre property just outside the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia.
The clients, a young couple with no children, had removed several previous 'improvements' such as a wrap-around loggia and the paint which had been applied to the stone under its roof, although a projecting entry and toilet at the back of the side porch had been retained and even renovated before we began our work. |
