

After over 20 years of previous professional practice, this firm was founded in 1996 with the goals of building a broad practice of Architecture, Organizational Masterplanning, Public Open Spaces and Interior Design. Now in our 8th year, we have been responsible for the design and documentation of over $35 million of construction, virtually all of which has been, or is being, built.
Our Work has been recognized for its value to the profession and to the public on numerous projects, exemplified by the following:
The Education Place and Visitor Facilities at Wyck, an Historic House Museum and Garden, has recieved an Honor Award from the Pennsylvania Society of Architects 2004 Design Awards program and a Recognition Award in the Philadelphia Chapter AIA 2003 Design Awards program.
McCabe Library, at Swarthmore College, has received the 2002 Craftsmanship Award in the Construction Excellence Program from the General Building Contractors Association of Philadelphia.
Yerba Buena Gardens Esplanade, completed under Mr. McEwen's direction for the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency in 1993, has received two AIA Honor Awards and the Grand Prize in the 1999 Rudy Bruner Awards for Urban Excellence.
For her work on Rowan College Library, of Glassboro, NJ, Ms. Mahon received the Women in Architecture Award in 1991 from the Boston Society of Architects.

Mr. McEwen has taught at Drexel University since 1986, where he is Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture, teaching Urban Design. Mr. McEwen and Ms. Mahon have served as guest critics and speakers at numerous schools, and have served as design awards jurors.
We have contributed to the structure and character of Philadelphia's most important Public Open Spaces, through Multi-disciplinary design team work on the 2003 New Visions for Penn's Landing,
Service on the Philadelphia Chapter AIA's 1995 Task Force on the reshaping of Independence Mall,
Membership since 1993 on Chestnut Hill's Land Use Planning and Zoning Committee, and
Continuing Work with other interested parties on the Germantown commercial corridor and other locations of the city.
