Supremacy of functional requirements - First and foremost, the building must satisfy the programmatic needs of the client and the users.
Environment that supports educational goals - The creation of an environment which stimulates learning and fosters creative development. Contextual - New interventions that are sympathetic to their surrounding built and natural environment. New structures that relate to and enhance the existing context. Sense of community - The project should strengthen the sense of community that typically exists in academic/educational facilities. Longevity - the need to provide a degree of flexibility in order for the building to evolve with the changing needs of the institution. We both inquire about, and project, scenarios for our clients’ future needs and pursue design strategies that can accommodate them. |
