SPRINGFIELD AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION
PHILADELPHIA, PA PROPOSAL 1999 |
Changes in the Emergency Medicine field are necessitating quicker response times and the presence of fully trained medics at the response site. The hiring of full-time medical staff and the need for continuous resident presence at the station house suggest its configuration be re-evaluated relative to increasing requirements for meeting, living, sleeping, and storage.
The design scheme expands the Springfield Ambulance Association’s existing station house to provide more amenable living and sleeping spaces at the station house for all association members, both to accommodate ongoing EM work and to attract new membership to the association. The program includes a new large space for meetings and/or living functions, two bunk rooms, related storage space, and reorganized Office, Storage and Bath Facilities within the existing building envelope. |
